(TargetLiberty.org) – Former ESPN host Sage Steele during an interview with Fox News Digital revealed that in 2021 when she had interviewed President Joe Biden she had been instructed by network executives to follow a “script” that they provided.
Steele stated that she could remember how “structured” the pre-taped interview was, and that she was even given a script that she needed to follow. As she argued this made the experience rather interesting, especially as she was told that she needed to say every single word on the script and not deviate from it at all.
During the March 2021 interview, Steele had asked Biden a question relating to sports leagues trying to return to normalcy during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as questions relating to vaccination. At the time the interview had made national headlines as Biden had supported the MLB’s All-Star game boycott of Atlanta after Georgia passed the new election reform law.
However, as Steele explained, everything she had said during the interview was entirely scripted and edited by executives. She added that she had been informed of exactly what she should ask, and how she should ask the questions and was told explicitly that there would not be any follow-ups. She pointed out that this had come from the fourth floor, where the network’s CEO, president, and top executives were all working.
She also pointed out that she did not know if any of the questions had been sent by ESPN to the White House ahead of the interview, but was fairly confident that the questions had been shared ahead of time.
