(TargetLiberty.org) – On Tuesday, President Biden had mocked former President Donald Trump over his stunt before Easter last month when he had started to sell Bibles.
Biden during a campaign appearance in Florida had delivered his speech in which he attacked Trump who he blamed for the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade. As a result of this abortion restrictions have been implemented in several Republican states.
Biden, who is a church-going Catholic, stated regarding Trump that he had previously referred to as the Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade as a miracle. He continued by mocking Trump and arguing that perhaps this had come out of that Bible that Trump had been trying to see. Biden then joked that he had almost been inclined to buy one just so he could see what was in the Bible.
Biden continued in his speech by arguing that the decision had not been a miracle and that it was just a political deal between Trump and the evangelical base in order to have their support. As Biden said the Republican Party had promised them that if they had control they would commit to appointing Supreme Court justices who would overturn the ruling.
In March Trump started to promote his “God Bless the USA.” Trump in a video promotion of the book had stated that he was proud to be endorsing this Bible and that they needed to ensure that America started to pray again. While the Bibles were not directly being sold by Trump, he was receiving royalties for each purchase.
