(TargetLiberty.org) – On Friday, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) blasted South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) after she revealed in her new book that following a hunting trip gone wrong, she had ended up shooting her family dog.
The DNC in a statement that was first published in The Hill, dubbed itself the “Dogmocratic Party” and responded to the statement in the book.
In the statement which was written from the perspective of the dogs of DNC members, they argued that while they had heard about how dangerous MAGA is they were not prepared for the “horrifying passages” that Noem chose to include in the book. They continued by arguing that they only had one message which was that they should not elect officials who were openly bragging about having shot and killed a family pet as part of their book tour.
Noem has been viewed as one of the possible running mates for former President Donald Trump who is presumed to be the Republican presidential nominee.
Noem in her book goes into detail about how she had gotten angry with her 14-month-old dog “Cricket” who had not performed well during a hunting trip. Following the trip, she had taken the dog to a gravel pit located on her property.
Noem had continued by writing that apart from the dog she had also shot a male goat that she claimed smelled bad and would continuously chase her children.
Noem’s daughter had then returned home and asked for the dog “Cricket.” As Noem argued if she was a better politician this is not a story that she would be sharing.
