(TargetLiberty.org) – On Wednesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) slammed Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) for asking Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) regarding his stance on antisemitism.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ocasio-Cortez pointed out that Sanders’ family had been murdered during the holocaust and that his commitment to protecting innocent civilians in Gaza is exactly because of his Jewish values. She continued by arguing that Sanders along with many other Jewish leaders deserved better treatment and that the Florida lawmaker’s behavior had been shameful.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to Moskowitz’s comments regarding Sanders, who on Tuesday had put out a statement in which he pushed for the U.S. military to stop providing aid to Israel for their wartime campaign.

Sanders had written that he was disappointed but had not been surprised by the fact that they would not be considering his military aid amendment. The Senator whose parents were Jewish immigrants who had migrated from Poland in the 1920s, ended up voting against the bill which would allocate $26 billion for Israel and global humanitarian aid, some of which would be for Gaza.

On Wednesday President Biden signed the bill which had passed through the upper chamber the previous day in a 79-18 vote. The bill had not only been opposed by Sanders but also by Sens. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.)

Moskowitz, who like Sanders is Jewish, had shared Sander’s statement stating “Bernie, now do AntiSemitism,” and had proceeded to ask him why he was not quiet. Ocasio-Cortez slammed him for this statement and pointed out Sanders’ family history.
