(TargetLiberty.org) – The Manhattan grand jury’s case against Donald Trump will continue to move forward for the next few weeks and months. This has resulted in many questioning whether Juan Merchan’s daughter’s work history means that the judge’s stance has been compromised.
Merchan, the judge overseeing the hush payment case against Trump, has a 34-year-old daughter, Loren, whose work history includes working for Democratic politicians including Vice President Kamala Harris and California Representative Adam Schiff. Currently, she is president of consulting firm Authentic Campaigns, whose clients include Harris, Schiff, the Biden-Harris campaign, and California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom.
Loren Merchan’s ties to many of Trump’s biggest political rivals were something that both Trump and his sons pointed out in their criticisms about the official chosen to oversee his case.
On Tuesday evening, Trump during a speech at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, following his arraignment in New York earlier that day, claimed that Merchan was “a Trump-hating judge with a Trump-hating wife and family.” He further pointed out how his daughter was involved and getting paid by the Biden-Harris campaign.
On Tuesday, Trump was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in connection to the $130,000 hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence over an affair that she had had with Trump in the mid-2000s ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Trump has repeatedly denied both the affair and any wrongdoing and has claimed that the case was a political “witch hunt.”
