(TargetLiberty.org) – Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers are looking at the social media of prospective jurors and their spouses in order to determine whether or not they would be good options for the jury in the New York hush money trial.

On Tuesday the lawyers shared a video in court in which they shared the social media posts of several prospective jurors who had expressed online anti-Trump sentiments or posts that could indicate that. As they argued these prospective jurors would not be able to remain impartial or fair during the trial.

One of the jurors that the former President’s lawyers tried to have dismissed had shared a video from the upper Manhattan celebrations after President Biden won the 2020 presidential election. The juror however argued that the video she had captured from the celebration was reminiscent of the health care workers’ cheers that had occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. She added that regardless of her thoughts, the work of a juror is to just understand the facts of the case. The judge opted to allow her to remain as a possible option after the woman insisted that she could be an impartial juror.

A second juror who had celebrated after Trump had lost the legal battle relating to his travel ban, who had shared a post calling for Trump to be locked up had ended up being dismissed from the case.

Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the case, pointed out that this is a person who had deliberately called for Trump to be locked up.
