(TargetLiberty.org) – Former President Donald Trump and his lawyers might need to spend the next few months trying to move Trump’s upcoming trial to a different area of New York in order for him to get a fairer and more balanced jury.

On Tuesday morning, only hours before Trump had to go into court for his arraignment, he suggested that his trial should not take place in Manhattan because the majority of voters in the area are Democrats. He argued that instead, the trial should need to be moved to the Republican-leaning Staten Island.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated that Manhattan was a “very unfair venue” with only voters in some areas voting only 1 percent Republican. He added that instead, Staten Island was going to be a “very fair and secure location for the trail.”

Trump during his arraignment pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts relating to the falsification of business records. The charges were filed in connection to the hush money payments made on behalf of Donald Trump to adult film star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal in exchange for their silence over their alleged affairs with Trump prior to the 2016 presidential election.

In the 2020 election, Joe Biden overwhelmingly won Manhattan with 87 percent while Trump only received 12 percent of the votes. Biden also beat Trump in the Bronx with 83 to 16 percent, Brooklyn with 77 to 22 percent, and Queens with 72 to 27 percent.
