(TargetLiberty.org) – On Sunday, former President Trump cheered over the news that Robert Costello, who had served as a legal adviser to former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, is scheduled to testify on Monday before the New York grand jury looking into Trump’s role in the alleged hush-money scheme.

Trump took to Truth Social to write that it was “Just reported that the most important witness” is going to be testifying before the grand jury. He then proceeded to say that Costello is a “highly respected lawyer who once represented convicted felon, jailbird, and serial fake storyteller and liar, Michael Cohen.”

He added that the information that Costello would be able to supply would be both “conclusive and irrefutable.” He then proceeded to once again call the probe a “Witch Hunt!”

Costello and Cohen had reportedly had a falling out years ago. Cohen is another key witness in the investigation. Costello has been called in to act as a “rebuttal witness” during the probe. They have further signaled that there is going to be one more witness who will testify on Monday.

According to a source familiar with the matter, Costello had been the one to reach out to Trump’s lawyer in order to provide them with information that would rebut the statements Cohen had made and potentially exonerate Trump.

The grand jury is currently investigating Trump’s role in the hush-money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election. Allegedly the payment was made in exchange for her silence over an affair that she had with Trump.

Cohen had previously admitted to having made the payment at the direction of Donald Trump. However, Trump has repeatedly denied the affair.
