(TargetLiberty.org) – Republicans are slowly beginning to realize that the more crowded the 2024 primary gets the more that provides a boost for former President Trump who will be more easily able to win the GOP nomination.

So far, three candidates have already announced that they will be participating in the primary, but many more are expected to make final decisions about whether or not they are going to be joining the 2024 presidential race.

Trump and his allies are preparing for a crowded Republican primary, which will mean that no alternative candidate is going to be easily able to threaten Trump’s position. According to early polling, in every crowded Republican primary match, Trump is heading against other candidates. However, in a hypothetical one-on-one matchup with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump appears to be losing. This shows that the more candidates that join the race the more Trump becomes the clear front-runner in the primary race.

Ford O’Connell, a Republican strategist, and former congressional candidate has pointed out that “Trump has the highest floor, DeSantis has the highest ceiling,” and that in a “seven-ring circus, the highest floor is more important.” He added that in a “two-ring circus” that would change.

According to the latest Fox News poll, Trump was leading with 43 percent in a hypothetical 15-candidate primary. DeSantis was in second place with 28 percent of voters supporting him. All other candidates did not reach the double-digit mark.
