(TargetLiberty.org) – Former President Donald Trump’s New York fraud trial has resulted in questions regarding the price of Ivanka Trump’s penthouse. Trump’s eldest daughter’s apartment had apparently been valued by Trump’s business to be worth two and a half times more than what Trump had been given to buy it.

On the first day of the fraud trial against the Trump Organization, the former President’s former accountant Donald Bender stated that he had occasionally noticed discrepancies in Trump’s finances.

Specifically, he referred to one occasion where the Trump Park Avenue penthouse had been given a different valuation than the price that Ivanka Trump had been given in order to buy the apartment outright.

The lawsuit was filed against Trump, his two adult sons, and the Trump Organization by the New York Attorney General who has alleged that Trump defrauded insurers and banks by inflating the valuation of his assets. The apartment in question was valued by the Trump Organization at $20.8 million when Ivanka Trump was given the opportunity to buy it at $8.5 million.

Judge Arthur Engoron already determined last week that Trump had overvalued some of his assets including his Mar-a-Lago estate in order to gain further benefits. In the current trial, he is going to be hearing arguments for the charges relating to whether or not Trump and the other defendants had falsified business records, or issued false financial statements. Trump has maintained that the case against him is politically motivated and that he has committed no wrongdoings.
