(TargetLiberty.org) – On Monday, Michael Steele, the former chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) predicted that former President Donald Trump would be quick to violate the gag order issued against him in the hush money criminal case in New York.

The case is under the oversight of Judge Juan Merchan, who on Monday issued a ruling to expand the gag order that blocks Trump from making any remarks about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s (D) or Merchan’s families.

MSNBC political analyst Steele argued while guest hosting “Insider with Jen Psaki” that Trump would be quick to violate this order. He continued by asking former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner how he believes that the violation is going to happen because as he argued it will definitely happen.

Kirschner predicted that after the former President violates the gag order he is going to have financial fines that are levied against him. However, as he pointed out he did not believe that this would be effective in blocking Trump from making any further attacks. In reference to the civil fraud case against Trump, he pointed out that as seen during that case Trump had not cared about the minor financial fines by Judge Engoron every time he had violated the gag order.

Former acting assistant attorney general Mary McCord had pointed out that it was “unusual” that the expansion of the gag order did not include any pretrial detainment in the case that Trump violates the gag order.
