(TargetLiberty.org) – Decision Desk HQ called the Senate race in Ohio where Trump-endorsed candidate Bernie Moreno managed to win in the state’s primary.

Moreno, a former car dealership owner, had managed in the primary to win against Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRosa (R) and state Sen. Matt Dolan (R) in the primary which had intensified in the campaign’s closing days. Moreno had managed to get important endorsements over his opponents as Rep. Jim Jordan (R), Ohio Sen. JD Vance (R) and former President Donald Trump had all endorsed him.

In 2022 both Dolan and Moreno had unsuccessfully run for the Senate in the state and had managed to have an important fundraising advantage over LaRose. Both of them had been able to spend millions of dollars on their campaigns through self-funding.

Moreno had managed to win in an outright majority as swept all 88 Ohio counties in the race. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter he argued that he was very grateful to have had the support of Ohioans in all of the countries and that he thanked LaRosa and Dolan for the competitive primary. HE added that he was looking forward to working with the GOP in order to defeat incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) in November.

In the primary, there was a significant change in the polling during the race as it had appeared that the race could end up being inconclusive ahead of the presidential race. LaRose had been leading the race for the first few months, but following Trump’s endorsement Moreno had managed to start pushing towards the lead.
