(TargetLiberty.org) – When the Manhattan District Attorney’s office decided to indict former President Donald Trump it was unlikely that they believed that the entire event was going to turn into a type of movie production. News stations across America rushed at the opportunity to showcase the former President’s every move, from leaving his Mar-a-Lago home to reaching New York City for his arraignment.
At first glance, Trump appeared to be the one benefiting the most from all of the attention, raising millions of dollars in donations within the first 24 hours of his indictment. Throughout his arraignment, Trump has also maintained his innocence claiming he committed no wrongdoings.
Still, the one who seems to be benefiting the most from Trump’s legal troubles is actually his potential 2024 opponent in the presidential race, Joe Biden, who has had the luxury of staying out of the spotlight for the past week.
Following Trump’s arraignment, Biden’s Department of Justice announced a proposed change to Title IX which would stop any federally funded education programs from perpetuating any sort of sex-based discrimination. This would also put a stop to all the GOP-led legislation in multiple states that block transgendered students from participating in female sports.
Despite how controversial this change is, it has barely been featured in the news because of Trump’s indictment. Similarly, on that same day, the Biden administration released a 12-page summary with details about the chaotic 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan in which they shifted a lot of the blame to the Trump administration. However, this story also failed to gain the attention of the media which appears to be exclusively focused on Trump this past week.
