( – On Tuesday, President Joe Biden attempted to appeal to Latino voters during an Arizona fundraiser. At the campaign event in Phoenix, Biden argued that Latino voters had played a big role in him winning in the 2020 presidential election against former President Donald Trump. He added that he really needed Latino voters.

Biden proceeded to draw a comparison between the comments that Trump had made about Latino immigrants, especially as he had argued that they poisoned “the blood” of America. Trump had also claimed that some undocumented immigrants were “not people.”

During the campaign event, Biden pointed out that the only thing that Trump cared about was the wealthy. He then proceeded to share how different he was and how his administration had had several Latino members including Education Secretary Miguel Cardona and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra.

The focus on Latinos had come as the Biden campaign had launched a national program that is seeking to mobilize more Latino voters. As part of these efforts, there is going to be a series of events focused on the mobilization of Latino support.

Biden’s visit to Arizona and Nevada was focused on targeting Trump on key issues including immigration, abortion rights, unions, and defending democracy.

Recent Decision Desk HQ aggregation of polls has shown that Trump is leading in both Arizona and Nevada with 5.1 percent and 5.7 percent respectively.

On Tuesday during his visit to Nevada, the president had defended his low poll numbers and had argued that there were some national polls where he had been beating Trump.
