(TargetLiberty.org) – On Tuesday, a hearing by House lawmakers on President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents became a proxy campaign battle between the Democrats and the Republicans. This development comes after Biden’s full testimony transcript from last fall was released. In the transcript, Biden maintained that he had no intention of retaining the classified documents in question after he had left the vice presidency.

The House Judiciary Committee hearing included more than four hours of testimony from special counsel Robert Hur who had in his 345-page report assessed the age and mental competency of President Biden, 81, against whom he ended up not pressing any criminal charges. Hur noted that there was not sufficient evidence in this case to bring the case to court.

Hur stated about the report that what he believed the evidence had shown, and what he thought jurors would perceive, is exactly what he had referenced in his comments. He added that at no point in the report had he disparaged the President.

On Tuesday the entire transcript of the interviews between Hur and President Biden was released. This release has helped provide a more complete image of the investigation, which lasted almost a year, while also filling some of the gaps that Hur’s accounting of the events had previously left. However, at this time it is not certain that the transcript or even the hearing was going to help change some of the preconceived notions about President Biden.

Biden has retained that he had treated classified information very seriously.
