(TargetLiberty.org) – On Monday the Biden reelection campaign slammed former President Donald Trump over his vice-presidential pick, as Trump announced that Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) would be his running mate.
In a statement, Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon argued that Trump had selected Vance because Vance would be willing to do something that former Vice President Mike Pence would not have been willing to do. That is to bend over and allow Trump to push forth his extreme MAGA agenda as he had tried to do on January 6. She argued that Vance would enable Trump regardless of whether that meant harming the American people or even breaking the law.
O’Malley Dillon had claimed that Vance is going to “make it his mission” for Project 2025 to go forward. Project 2025, is the policy vision put forward by the Heritage Foundation in relation to another Trump term. In her statement, O’Malley Dillon pointed out that Vance had a very conservative stance when it relates to abortion rights, and that he has repeatedly denied the 2020 presidential election results.
In 2021 Vance had been asked about whether exceptions for incest and rape should be included in abortion laws, to which he had argued that “two wrongs don’t make a right.” Vance had also stated that he was going to commit to accepting the results of the upcoming presidential election only if they were “free and fair.” This echoes the sentiment that other Republicans who have claimed that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen have been expressing.
