(TargetLiberty.org) – On Tuesday, during the Republican National Convention, vice presidential candidate JD Vance was talking with the delegates while former President Donald Trump was surrounded by Secret Service agents. Trump’s team has increased security efforts to keep him safe following the recent assassination attempt against him which left his ear wounded. Trump’s campaign is looking to adjust to the new security standards being set which have also affected his encounters with his supporters.

The Trump campaign is not answering any security-related questions and has instead directed all questions to the Secret Service.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has also spoken about the increase in protective measures but did not supply any further details regarding it.

The FBI and Homeland Security in a joint bulleting expressed concerns about the possibility of political events being targeted by other violent acts.

Security measures for President Joe Biden have also increased. Following the attack independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also increased his security. The Trump campaign has now been using around-the-clock armed security in order to keep its offices safe.

Trump’s next rally is set to take place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and it is going to be his first public event with his vice-presidential pick since the shooting. The heightened security is also complicating Trump’s interactions with his supporters as he usually poses for selfies and signs autographs. These interactions used to take place in many public spaces including fast-food joints and restaurants. The attack has also resulted in security disputes during the national convention, as there are arguments regarding the protest zone locations.
