(TargetLiberty.org) – Biden challenges Trump to a round of golf in a failed attempt to prove his cognitive abilities.

When questions about President Joe Biden, 81, and former President Donald Trump, 78 — the two oldest presidential candidates in the nation’s history —  the topic derailed into talking points about golf handicaps and physical fitness rather than cognition.

In response to questions about his cognitive function, Trump told Jake Tapper, CNN’s Presidential Debate co-moderator, that he had taken two “cognitive tests,” and “aced… both of them.”

Trump added that while he was President, he “took physical exams every year,” and is currently “in very good health.”

To highlight his physical fitness, Trump pointed out that he had recently “won two club championships,” not senior championships, but “regular club championships.”

The former President noted that to achieve that, “you have to be quite smart” and “be able to hit the ball a long way,” highlighting that he can do that, but Biden can’t.

Trump then suggested Biden couldn’t hit the ball “50 yards,” while contrasting that with his own physical condition, noting he is in “very good shape” similar to the shape he was “25, 30 years ago.”

Biden rebutted by challenging Trump to a game of golf, with the caveat being the former President vows to carry his own clubs.

The President stated he’d happily have a driving contest with Trump, highlighting that while he was Vice President, he got his handicap “down to a 6.”

Biden added that he told Trump before, that he’d be “happy to play golf,” if the former President carried his “own bag.”

Biden’s challenge prompted Trump to highlight the ridiculousness of challenging his counterpart to a game of golf during a presidential debate — ending the exchange by stating, “Let’s not act like children.”
