(TargetLiberty.org) – The White House claimed Hunter Biden had not received classified information while staying there.
On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had to answer a question about whether recently convicted Hunter Biden had access to classified information.
The question comes after Jean-Pierre confirmed last week that the President’s son had been attending meetings with government officials and his father’s aides in the White House.
In response to the question about whether Hunter Biden had access to classified information, Jean-Pierre simply replied, “No.”
Following last week’s confirmation that Hunter Biden was present at some White House meetings, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-Ohio) sent Jeff Zients, the White House chief of staff, a letter.
Turner asked Zients in the July 3 letter to immediately “notify the Committee of the official meetings Hunter Biden is participating in,” and whether classified information was disclosed in those meetings.
The President’s son has been staying at the White House since he joined his father’s campaign team for debate preparation at Camp David. He then joined President Joe Biden in Atlanta for the June 27 debate, residing at the White House since then.
According to reports, Hunter Biden has acted as a gatekeeper to the President, urging him to remain in the race, and has also assisted his father with speech writing.
However, his presence in the White House has raised eyebrows since his conviction in a Delaware court on three felony charges related to purchasing a 2018 revolver. Hunter is also facing a September trial over federal tax charges.
