(TargetLiberty.org) – On Sunday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) drew a comparison between Jesus Christ and former President Donald Trump while referring to his recent conviction in the New York hush money trial.
During a Las Vegas rally, Greene had told Trump supporters that the former President was a convicted felon and that the fake news media and Democrats wanted to talk about his conviction constantly. She added that the man that she worshiped had also been a convicted felon who had died while on the cross.
Last month a New York jury found Trump to be guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying business records in a New York hush money trial connected to a payment made on his behalf to adult film star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
This is not the first time that Greene has made the comparison between Jesus and Trump as she had made a similar comment prior to his New York arraignment last year.
During an interview with Right Side Broadcasting Greene argued that Trump was joining a list of some incredible people that had been arrested including Nelson Mandela and Jesus Christ.
Republicans have blasted the legal cases against Trump and his convictions. The Trump campaign used the legal woes of the former President in order to fundraise more for the presidential campaign, with them managing to raise $35 million within only hours of his conviction.
However, despite his legal troubles Trump appears to be leading against President Joe Biden in many battleground states.
