(TargetLiberty.org) – Pennsylvania State Police released the names of three victims who were shot during an attempted assassination of Trump.
Police identified the deceased victim as 50-year-old Corey Comperatore of Sarver, Pennsylvania.
David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, the second victim, was listed as being in a stable condition, as was the third victim, James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
In a post on Facebook, Matt Popovich, District 8 vice commandment of the Marine Corps League of Pennsylvania Inc., revealed that “one of the civilians shot at the rally,” Commandant David Dutch, “was one of our own.”
Popovich described Dutch as being in “critical condition” after being shot in the chest and liver and was in an induced coma.”
Popovich concluded by requesting people keep Dutch “and his family in your prayers.”
Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of Pennsylvania State Police, expressed that the “victims and their families are certainly in our thoughts today,” and that the State Police are working “tirelessly alongside” local, state, and federal partners in the investigation.
To honor Comperatore, a former fire chief for Buffalo Township, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro ordered U.S. and state flags to fly at half-staff on all public buildings, public grounds, and state facilities.
Shapiro shared that he had spoken to Comperatore’s widow, who explained he was a man of faith.
In his remarks, Shapiro described Comperatore as a “girl dad… firefighter” who “went to church every Sunday” and “loved his family” and community.
He noted Comperatore was an avid Trump supporter who had been excited to be at the rally Trump held in the community.
The Governor also used Sunday’s press conference to call on Americans to come together in prayer and denounce hatred and malice.
