(TargetLiberty.org) – On Wednesday, Republican Rep. Andy Ogles (Tennessee) suggested Hunter Biden’s conviction presented “an opening” for former First Lady Michelle Obama to enter the Presidential race.
Speaking on Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria,” Ogles discussed the verdict, emphasizing the “need to pursue justice,” while highlighting that Hunter Biden’s conviction could be the perfect cover for President Joe Biden to step back and Michelle Obama to step in in his stead.
Ogles suggested the Biden family could say, “Hey, we’re going to take care of our house” and help Hunter, allowing Democrats like Michelle Obama to run, adding that Democrats knew Biden couldn’t win and were “desperate for another candidate.”
However, the former First Lady has denied she has plans to launch a Presidential bid. Earlier this year, her office clarified that Obama wouldn’t be running for President and “supports” Biden’s and Vice President Kamala Harris’s “re-election campaign.”
Still, several Republicans have brought up the idea that Obama might replace Biden on November’s ballot, including Republican Senator Ted Cruz (Texas) and GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia).
Ogles also repeated claims by former President Donald Trump’s campaign that Hunter Biden’s conviction is merely a “distraction” from more serious corruption allegations against the Biden family.
The Tennessee Republican emphasized that it is necessary to “pursue justice,” but added that “the Biden crime family” had taken multiple millions of dollars “from foreign countries,” which he insisted should be leading the conversation around the Bidens.
Ogles added that allegations against the Biden family “should be prosecuted and adjudicated.”
Republicans, including Trump’s allies, believe President Joe Biden has profited from his son’s highly scrutinized and possibly corrupt business dealings.
