(TargetLiberty.org) – George Clooney, a prominent supporter of the Democratic Party and a close friend of President Joe Biden, recently expressed concerns about Biden’s prospects in the upcoming November elections. In a New York Times editorial, Clooney, who hosted a record-breaking fundraiser for Biden’s campaign last month, noted a noticeable change in Biden compared to his previous vibrant self. Clooney highlighted Biden’s struggle during a recent debate which sparked discussions about his age and effectiveness, leading to calls from within his own party for him to not seek reelection.

Despite his affection and respect for Biden, Clooney candidly pointed out that the challenges Biden faces are linked to his age, which are not reversible. He emphasized the importance of facing these realities head-on, rather than ignoring them out of fear of a second term for former President Trump. Clooney’s stark assessment included concerns that the Democratic Party might not only lose the presidency but also congressional seats if Biden remains the nominee.

Clooney called on senior Democratic leaders like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi to encourage Biden to step aside, suggesting that this could reinvigorate the party and engage voters. He described democracy as inherently messy but stressed the necessity of taking bold actions for the greater good. Clooney concluded by affirming his admiration for Biden, crediting him with defending democracy in 2020, and expressed hope that Biden would make a decision that benefits the future of the party and the country.
