(TargetLiberty.org) – On Thursday, during a radio interview, President Biden acknowledged that his performance at the first presidential debate hosted by CNN had been poor. However, he added that despite the fact he had “screwed up” in the debate he would not be withdrawing from the presidential race and he continued to be committed to defeating former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
In a pre-recorded interview with radio host Earl Ingram, Biden argued that he had a “bad night” he continued by noting that while he had made a mistake, he had learned from that mistake and that he was now back up. He added that they would win the presidential election, beating former President Donald Trump, much like he had done in 2020.
The first debate performance of the former President had resulted in many of his supporters and other Democrats expressing concern, as Biden appeared to be having a hard time forming coherent arguments or rebutting the false statements of the former President. Many had also pushed for Biden to exit the presidential race and allow a different Democrat to emerge as the candidate for 2024.
The president however has maintained that voters should focus on his record of accomplishments rather than his poor performance in the debate. He added that the debate had not gone well, but that he had only been on stage for 90 minutes. He argued that instead, people should look at his record in the last three and a half years.
