(TargetLiberty.org) – The rising price of gas is hitting US citizens hard, and the increase is at least partly because President Joe Biden’s extreme green agenda is strangling the US oil industry. Now, thanks to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, oil prices are rising faster than ever. Biden still can’t bring himself to support domestic energy production, though. Instead, he’s trying to strike a deal with one of the world’s last socialist dictatorships.
Joe Biden is in Texas today but won’t meet with energy producers to find out what’s needed to increase production, reduce prices, and reduce dependence on foreign oil.
Instead, this White House would rather meet with Venezuela and Iran.

Over the weekend, media outlets reported Biden has sent a team to Venezuela to negotiate an oil purchase from President Nicolás Maduro. Maduro was elected in 2013, but his 2018 re-election was denounced as fraudulent by most of the world after widespread vote-rigging. The US, under former President Donald Trump, joined many other countries in recognizing Juan Guaidó as the legitimate president, but Maduro simply refused to leave power. Now Biden wants to buy oil from him, propping up his illegitimate regime.
Worst of all, Venezuela is one of Russia’s few remaining allies. The US is imposing sanctions on Russian oil, but then turning around and trying to buy more from one of Putin’s friends. Ironically, Biden was in Texas over the weekend, but didn’t even meet US oil companies to discuss increasing production. Instead, he’s negotiating with a government the US doesn’t even recognize.
