(TargetLiberty.org) – Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, from Missouri, made news after he crashed a rented U-Haul truck near the White House on Monday. Reportedly the man told federal agents that he was planning to “kill the president” and “seize power.”

The truck crashed into the security barriers around Lafayette Square according to a statement released by a Secret Service agent and shared by the Department of Justice. Following the crash, Kandula had exited the vehicle with a red-and-white flag featuring the Nazi swastika. He told the agents that his goal was to murder the President and take control of the nation. He added that he was willing to hurt anyone who stood in his way.

According to what the man has told agents, he was planning his actions for six months and really thought that he was going to be successful. He added that regardless of whether or not he was successful in his attempt, his message would have gone through. The court filing did not specify what the man’s message actually was.

Kandula stated that he had bought the swastika flag because the “Nazis have a great history” and their leader Adolf Hitler was someone he admired for his “authoritarian nature, eugenics, and … one world order.”

Following a search of Kandula and the U-Haul, it was determined that there were no weapons or explosives on him. The crash did not result in any injuries.

The man was arrested according to U.S. Park Police on charges of threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on a president, vice president, or member of their family, reckless driving, trespassing, and destruction of federal property.
