(TargetLiberty.org) – A lot happened over the weekend including even more censorship by Facebook, Democrats in Congress asking for additional programs, and a new batch of endorsements for the two DNC front-runners.
Facebook Removes Trump Campaign Ads
The social media giant isn’t even trying to hide its bias anymore. Late last year, Facebook implemented various policies to help “prevent” the spread of political misinformation. It started doing fact checks on certain statements and claimed to fight political discrimination taking place on the platform.
Apparently, the rules don’t apply to Facebook when they decide to take down certain Trump campaign ads.
In an otherwise standard-looking Trump ad, Facebook users would see requests to take an “Official 2020 Congression District Census.”
Facebook believes they create “confusion” regarding the US census. The ads called for users to respond to surveys that were “essential to our team’s 2020 campaign strategy.” However, the formatting, language, and graphics used would be difficult to confuse with a real Census promotion.
Congressional Dems Pushing for Paid Sick Leave
With the novel coronavirus hitting the states, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) are working to push an agenda. They’re requesting any economic legislative package that might be passed to help the economy include paid sick leave for those infected with the virus.
The economy is a real concern, because on Monday morning, the S&P dropped 7%, halting trading temporarily for the first time in years.
Pelosi and Schumer don’t just want to pass a singular paid sick-leave bill. They want to implement it as part of a greater economic package, which would also include increased unemployment insurance and free testing for the virus.
The duo claims that Trump isn’t prioritizing the health and safety of Americans, even though he signed an $8.3 billion funding bill that went through Congress last week.
New Wave of Democrat Endorsements
More endorsements are making headlines as the presidential race moves along. This time, both Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) received a big endorsement. Biden gained support from the former candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), while Sanders gained the allegiance of civil rights activist Jesse Jackson.
Harris, after going after the former vice president hard during the earlier DNC debates, now believes that Biden is the best chance the Democratic party has to defeat Trump. Recently, Biden has come under serious scrutiny due to his gaffs and inability to speak coherently for long periods of time. Harris tweeted out a video of her support for Biden.
.@JoeBiden has served our country with dignity and we need him now more than ever. I will do everything in my power to help elect him the next President of the United States. pic.twitter.com/DbB2fGWpaa

Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders continues to increase his appeal to the African-American voting block and the latest endorsement from Reverend Jesse Jackson could help a great deal. Jackson called Sanders’ campaign the “most progressive path” while he condemned any moderate alternative. He’s still seeking a potential endorsement from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) who has yet to give one after she dropped out.
