(TargetLiberty.org) – The coronavirus is still spreading rapidly across the world and information is coming at everyone really fast. Usually, the news cycle slows over the weekend because people are enjoying themselves. It turns out, that’s not the case during a global pandemic. As the government tries to stop the spread of the deadly disease, the Democratic primary is raging on. A suspected terrorist learned America doesn’t ever stop protecting itself. And, it seems as though college students on Spring Break want to catch COVID-19.
Where Are The DNC Front-Runners?
The Democratic front-runner, Joe Biden, was pretty quiet last week. He all but disappeared from the public as President Donald Trump’s administration asked Americans to stay home.
While the Biden Campaign tried to figure out how to address the nation through digital conferences, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) has it down.
Sanders spent much of his time last week addressing voters online about COVID-19. The senator also raised more than $2 million for coronavirus charities.
However, Sanders is also neglecting his Senate duties. The senator missed the March 22 vote on the shell stimulus package in the chamber. Instead of doing his job, he opted instead to attend a virtual campaign event with Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). How fitting.
Pakistani Doctor Arrested For Terrorism Charges
Doctor Mohammad Masoud, age 28, was arrested over the weekend for allegedly plotting potential terrorist activities. FBI agents took the former Mayo Clinic research coordinator into custody at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
He’s charged with a single count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist operation.
Prosecutors accused Masoud of openly pledging his allegiance to ISIS when speaking to paid FBI informants. The doctor allegedly wanted to carry out lone-wolf attacks on the US. On January 24, authorities say he contacted the terrorist group on an encrypted online social media platform. Massoud reportedly wanted to travel to the Middle East “to fight on the frontline as well as help the wounded brothers.”
To see such an individual previously employed by the prestigious Mayo Clinic is frightening. Luckily, law enforcement is always working to keep America safe.
Last, but certainly not least, college students are completely disregarding public safety so they can enjoy spring break. It’s not as if some of them don’t know about the virus or the risks it poses. However, plenty are underestimating the severity of the illness and how easily it spreads.
“Whatever happens happens” seems to be the overall sentiment by these youngsters. Five students at the University of Tampa recently got a wake-up call when they tested positive for COVID-19, CBS News reports four of them were traveling together for Spring Break.
UT has been notified that five UT students, traveling together and with other UT students during Spring Break, have tested positive for COVID-19. We sincerely wish our students, and any others who may be affected, a full and rapid recovery. https://t.co/MXl4e1v3gh

All Americans need to work together to keep our vulnerable populations safe from the coronavirus. This is a very serious virus and the only way to slow the spread is by following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) social distancing guidelines. The aggravation and boredom are worth it if it saves lives. Besides, the beaches and bars will still be there when this is over.
