Democratic Candidate Booed During Parade
(TargetLiberty.org) – With less than a week to go before the midterm elections, things are looking grim for at least one Democratic senator. The Nevada lawmaker, who’s locked in a tight race with her Republican rival, attended the annual Nevada Day parade on Saturday — and was booed by an angry crowd.

A video released on October 29 by Republican Senate candidate Adam Laxalt’s team shows a crowd in Carson City, NV jeering, booing and making thumbs-down gestures as Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) went past on a campaign float. Another clip released half an hour later showed a very different reception for Laxalt’s own float, with people cheering and waving as the candidate passed them.
In early summer, Masto looked certain to win, with one poll in May giving her a 21% lead over Laxalt. The gap has narrowed steadily, though, and more recent surveys show them neck and neck. A mid-October poll for USA Today showed Laxalt trailing by just 2% — and other September/October polls put him ahead. Analysts say Laxalt’s relentless focus on the economy is striking a nerve, especially among Hispanic voters. The Nevada Senate race is now wide open, and if Saturday’s crowds are typical of the state’s voters, things are looking good for the Republican challenger.
