Walmart Pulls Juneteenth Ice Cream From Stores Following Unexpected Backlash

Walmart Faces MAJOR Backlash After Releasing Controversial Holiday Ice-Cream

(TargetLiberty.org) – In 2021, President Joe Biden made June 19 a federal holiday to celebrate the emancipation of African-Americans all over the United States. Walmart recently repackaged a flavor of its store-brand ice cream to commemorate the holiday this year but pulled the plug when it received backlash from the community. Some people took to social media to accuse the company of using the holiday to just make more money.

Some offended Americans told Walmart it really needed to be careful about how it recognizes the day. One social media user asked the company if it could imagine anyone dedicating an ice cream flavor to mark the end of the Holocaust. Another furious commenter told them to “go to hell.”

It seems Walmart was attempting to recognize the new holiday, but it didn’t come off as intended. Instead, many were offended and angered by the gesture, saying big business is simply “trying to profit off of Black people.”

A spokesperson for the retail company spoke out about the backlash, apologized for the misstep, and assured the company would remove the items in question. Do you think Walmart was out of line with the ice cream flavor, or do you think the reaction was unwarranted?
