(TargetLiberty.org) – US district attorneys have an obligation to uphold the law. They’re supposed to prosecute everyone who breaks the law, not just the ones they choose. Recently, President Joe Biden nominated someone for US attorney who is accused of failing to uphold the law.
During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on September 30, Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) slammed Rachael Rollins, Biden’s choice for US attorney for Massachusetts. They took particular issue with her decision not to prosecute drug offenses, barring certain exceptions, while she was Boston’s district attorney. Senator Cruz called Rollins “extreme” and also attacked her for allegedly refusing to prosecute crimes.
Facts are stubborn things.
Today, in the Judiciary Committee, I walked through a document showing that Rachael Rollins, Joe Biden’s extreme nominee to be U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, will refuse to prosecute crimes.

Cotton said her decision not to prosecute happened “in the midst of a national drug crisis with more than 90,000 … Americans killed by a drug overdose” last year.

Biden nominated Rollins in July, but she’s just now moving to the Senate for a confirmation vote. When the president nominated the district attorney and other prosecutors, he said they were all chosen for their “devotion to enforcing the law.” But given the criticism she’s facing, it could prove difficult to get her nomination through, especially when crime is rising across the US.
