(TargetLiberty.org) – On April 29, China launched a Long March 5B rocket into space carrying a module that would be used for its new space station. When it launched, the core part of the rocket should have detached before it went into space, but the Chinese allowed it to enter the Earth’s orbit. Officials around the world were waiting for it to reenter the Earth’s atmosphere — with bated breath — and that finally happened.
Debris from the out-of-control rocket core plunged to the Earth on May 8. It reportedly landed in the Indian Ocean, although most of it burned up during reentry. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson slammed China for failing to “meet responsible standards regarding their space debris.”
NASA administrator Bill Nelson's statement on the #ChineseRocket:

This was the second time the Chinese government has allowed an uncontrolled rocket to fall back to Earth. Neither one threatened property or human life, but they could’ve been deadly. China is planning 10 more launches; hopefully, they won’t gamble with people’s lives next time.
