(TargetLiberty.org) On Friday afternoon the U.S. military shot down a “high-altitude object” which was spotted in Alaska airspace.

National Security Council official John Kirby confirmed that the object had been brought down, but during the White House, acknowledged that they did not yet know who the object belonged to. He added that the object did not resemble a balloon similar to the one that had been brought down on Saturday and had belonged to the Chinese Government.

In the press briefing, he added that they were referring to it as an object because that was the best description they had for the object. He added that they did not know if it was owned by a state, a corporation, or a private individual.

According to Kirby’s report, the Pentagon had tracked the object for 24 hours, and had determined that it “posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight.” He added that following President Biden’s direction, the object had been brought down as soon as it was over “territorial waters.” He added the waters over which the object was brought down are currently frozen.

Before being brought down by the U.S. Northern Command the object was determined to be “unmanned.” Following the object being brought down the President said it was a “success.”

The object was brought down over the Arctic Sea near the northeastern part of Alaska, close to the Canadian border.
