(TargetLiberty.org) – On Saturday, former President Donald Trump argued that the cold winter temperatures in Iowa would not have an effect on his supporters who would go vote in the caucus on Jan. 15. As he said his supporters would “walk on glass” in order to cast a vote in his favor.
Trump, who remains the frontrunner in the Republican presidential race, stated during an afternoon rally in Newton, Iowa that he had heard the night in the state was pretty cold and that those who were going to be voting in the caucus would need to wear a warm coat before going outside. He added that his campaign had told him after he expressed that the weather would be bad, that this was good news.
As he explained he had proceeded to question why it was good news, only for his campaign to state that the other candidates’ voters lacked the necessary enthusiasm to go out and vote in adverse conditions, but that his voters would be willing to “walk on glass” and that they would not care. He added that after asking one of the people of the campaign about it, they had said that they loved bad weather as it would not keep Trump’s supporters away from the ballot.
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley who was also set to hold a rally at the hotel that Trump was staying at was not successful in holding the rally. Trump pointed out that this was the type of thing he was referring to and that even President Joe Biden could not get enough people to show up to the rally.
