(TargetLiberty.org) Following the revelation that former President Donald Trump’s legal team had handed over to prosecutors a laptop that contained electronic copies of classified documents and belonged to one of his aides, many had called for the Republicans to hold congressional hearings looking into the case.
Representative Ted Lieu, a California Democrat, specifically noted that they should hold a hearing similar to the one that was recently held regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop this past week. Lieu in a tweet noted that as “MAGA Republicans are obsessed about laptops” they should look into the one that had classified information stored within it unlawfully.
The Laptop had been turned over in December and January along with more classified documents that had been found in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. According to a CNN report an empty folder with classified markings labeled “Classified Evening Briefing” was also included in the files handed over.
The laptop in question was used by Trump’s unnamed aide, who works for Save America PAC. According to the reports they had digitized copies of some pages that were transferred to a thumb drive and then the laptop without them realizing that they held classification markings.
Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, also spoke up regarding this case saying that Trump “is a clear and present danger to our national security.”
