(TargetLiberty.org) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is one of the 2024 Republican presidential candidates saw a giant sign that was supporting his opponent former President Donald Trump during his Iowa event on Sunday.

The 2024 Republican presidential primary polls have so far clearly shown that Trump is leading the presidential race, while DeSantis is coming in second place in most polls. This is despite the legal troubles that Trump continues to face, with his most recent indictment having come last week.

Last week, Special Counsel Jack Smith and the Department of Justice indicted Trump in connection with his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, which saw a mob of Trump’s supporters enter the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to block the electoral college certification. Last Thursday Trump was arraigned in connection to this case and pleaded not guilty on four charges. This was his second federal indictment as he had previously been indicted in relation to his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021.

DeSantis, who attended Representative Ashley Hinson’s annual barbecue event on Sunday along with a number of other presidential candidates, had to come face to face with a sign that supported Trump during his speech. The sign was reportedly visible throughout DeSantis’ speech at the event.

Chris Jackson, Ipsos senior vice President revealed that following the midterm election DeSantis had risen in popularity within the GOP but since then he had lost a lot of ground that he has so far been unable to win back even following his presidential bid announcement.
