(TargetLiberty.org) – A Yahoo News-YouGov poll taken after a Manhattan grand jury announced that they had approved an indictment against former President Donald Trump, shows that Trump has managed to maintain his lead in a hypothetical 2024 GOP primary.

According to the poll, Trump currently has a 31-point lead against his biggest potential GOP rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. This means that Trump received 52 percent of the vote, while DeSantis came in second place with only 21 percent. None of the other potential or actual GOP candidates on the list managed to pass the two-digit threshold.

Instead, former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley came in third place with 5 percent, and former Vice President Mike Pence was in fourth place with 3 percent. The rest of the potential candidates received less than 2 percent each.

Of all respondents, 11 percent stated that they were unsure about which candidate they would support. In a head-to-head matchup, Trump still manages to maintain a lead with 57 percent against DeSantis who would get 31 percent of the votes. Twelve percent stated that they were uncertain of whom they would vote for.

Yahoo also pointed out that in the past two weeks, Trump’s lead in a hypothetical race against DeSantis has significantly increased, as two weeks ago Trump was only leading by 8 points. More significantly in February DeSantis had been in the lead by 4 points.
