(TargetLiberty.org) – A new Emerson poll has placed former President Donald Trump in a clear leading position in a hypothetical 10-way Republican presidential primary in 2024.

The hypothetical 10-way Republican presidential primary only has two candidates break into the double digits. Trump has 55 percent of respondents’ support, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has the support of 30 percent of respondents. This means that the difference between them is 25 points.

The other eight candidates are well below the double-digit mark, with former Vice President Mike Pence being in third place with 8 percent, and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who became the first major Republican candidate to join the race after Trump, having 5 percent.

The Emerson poll is the latest poll to show that Trump is still the favorite in the Republican primary. The former President is looking to win the White House again, after losing his reelection campaign against Biden in 2020.

DeSantis has not yet announced whether or not he is going to be joining the race. However, some recent polls have shown him leading against Trump in a head-to-head match, however, when other candidates are included in the polls, Trump remains the clear winner.

The poll shows that Trump’s main support comes from voters with no college degree, with 72 percent of those with a high school diploma or less supporting him. On the other hand, DeSantis is performing better with college-educated voters and those over the age of 65.
