(TargetLiberty.org) – Former President Trump escalated his violent rhetoric regarding the legal cases that are mounting against him. The increase in tension comes at a time when prosecutors are choosing whether or not they want to bring criminal charges against the former President. However, many Democrats following Trump’s recent rhetoric have warned about the possibility of another Jan. 6, 2021.

In the past two days, Trump’s remarks have escalated with messages about the “potential death & destruction” taking place around the country if he is indicted, and remarks about potentially attacking Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) with a baseball bat circulating. These messages were extremely direct even for Trump who has never previously shied away from promoting violence. They have also led to many of Trump’s critics issuing warnings about the former president’s rhetoric potentially leading to partisan hostilities and unrest throughout the country.

Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), who was the chair of the House select committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, stated that this rhetoric is “dangerous” and it is a sign that the pressure is starting to get to the former President.

He added that hopefully, Trump’s supporters would not be taking his calls literally, as they had prior to the Jan. 6 attack where many people had felt as if Trump had at the time invited them to attack the Capitol.

On Saturday, Trump took the stage for his first 2024 campaign rally in Waco Texas.
