(TargetLiberty.org) – Former President Donald Trump during an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” remarked that Republican presidential candidate and Senator Tim Scott, R-S.C., would potentially be a good choice for Trump’s administration if he succeeds in winning back the White House.

During his appearance, Trump commented that many of the other Republican candidates were “talented” and hinted that he was already thinking about who could be his running mate. When host Maria Bartiromo asked him whether there was anyone he was considering as a running mate, Trump replied by stating there were many “talented” candidates. He added that there were certain candidates that he was friendly with and others that he was impressed by.

Trump also pointed out that there were many candidates who called him to say they would like to ask for permission. He then added that there were candidates who could turn out to be good cabinet members.

The host proceeded to specifically ask Trump whether he would consider being joined by Scott. To this Trump stated that he is a “very good guy” and argued that he could potentially see Scott having a role in the administration. However, he added that currently, Scott was campaigning.

Scott’s campaign was asked by Fox News about these latest comments by Trump, to which the campaign replied by pointing to a statement made to Fox News’s Neil Cavuto. As Scott had said at the time, he did not join the Republican presidential race in order to get second place, arguing that second is the first to lose.
