(TargetLiberty.org) – Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) in an interview with Fox News’s Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday” claimed that the estimates provided by local authorities on the number of people who were present during former President Donald Trump’s campaign rallies were “absurd.”
Recently South Carolina authorities estimated that approximately 50,000 people had attended one of Trump’s rallies. However, Christie argued that the rallies are not there to serve the American people but rather their purpose is serving the former President.
Christie specifically told Bream that the claims about 50,000 people attending are “absurd” and that he would not even be arguing about that. He added that it was clear that Trump was not concerned about the American people by anyone who heard his one-and-a-half-hour speech in Iowa. He then proceeded to point out that Trump had not told the truth regarding the farm deal with the Chinese and argued that not even “a quarter” of the agreement they had with Trump had been fulfilled. He then spent the majority of his time discussing his recent indictment, which clearly shows that this is self-serving and it is not Trump fighting for Americans.
Christie has also entered the presidential race against Trump in 2024, despite the fact that the two had once been allies. Christie has warned that should the Republican vote for Trump as their nominee in the primary they are guaranteed to lose the White House for another 4 years. He argued that the only thing Trump cares about is undoing his previous loss in 2020.
