Former President Trump, who has already announced his bid for the White House in 2024 took to Truth Social on Thursday in order to dispute the many polls that show Florida governor Ron DeSantis (R) as leading in a hypothetical match-up between the two.

In his post, Trump attached a poll that he said was conducted by a polling firm, McLaughlin & Associates, which showed him having 58 percent of support while DeSantis had only 36 percent. The question that respondents had reportedly been asked was which of the two they would prefer to see as the Republican presidential nominee in 2024.

He then added that all other polls were fake. This included the polls on “The WSJ, NBC Fake News, ABC Fake News, Fake Polling FOX NEWS, the dying and very sickly USA Today, and most others in the LameStream Media.”

This Truth Social post comes after there were many different polls in the past few weeks that showed DeSantis leading in a hypothetical matchup against Trump by close to double-digit margins. A Wall Street Journal poll specifically showed Trump falling behind the Florida governor by a lot as DeSantis got 52 percent of the support while Trump only got 38 percent. Similarly, a USA Today-Suffolk University poll also showed Trump being behind by 33 percent whereas DeSantis had 56 percent of the votes in a hypothetical matchup.
