(TargetLiberty.org) – New York Attorney General Letitia James is currently investigating the Trump family business with regard to property ownership in the state. On December 30, 2021, she sent subpoenas to two of former President Donald Trump’s adult children: Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. James is seeking their testimony and any documents they may have in connection with property valuations the attorney general suspects were inflated by the Trump Organization.
On January 3, both Trump children refused to comply with the subpoenas as issued by James, filing a legal motion to quash the requests.

In response, the New York Attorney General added Don Jr. and Ivanka as respondents in the inquiry, stating she will uncover the truth and “no one is above the law.” The Trumps’ Attorney Alan Futerfas alleged James is simply trying to “circumvent the entire grand jury process” by requesting the testimony directly to the office of the attorney general. The motion alleges the AG is violating standard criminal procedure rules.
Although Dems contend the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg face criminal charges, the former president denies any wrongdoing and believes the motives against him are purely political.
