(TargetLiberty.org) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday to slam special counsel Jack Smith over the recent revelation that he had gotten a search warrant for Trump’s X (formerly Twitter) account. In his post, he once again referred to Smith as “deranged.”
In the post, he questioned how Smith had dared to break into his Twitter count without disclosing it. He proceeded to argue that it was an atrocity that this was hidden from him and questioned what he could have possibly found on his Twitter account that is not already publicly known.
Last week, court filings were unsealed which showed that Smith had subpoenas and received a search warrant that forced X to provide him with documents and information related to Trump’s account, which was shut down following the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. According to the case, X was fined $350,000 after they failed to comply with the court order to hand over the requested records.
As part of the original filing, the Department of Justice had also gotten a nondisclosure order which blocked X from revealing to anyone, including Trump, of the existence of a search warrant. The case did not include any specific information about the subpoena or search warrant.
Trump in his post pointed out that this was like the raid of Mar-a-Lago and that instead of focusing on him the Department of Justice should be organizing a raid against President Biden, who he referred to as corrupt. This was a reference to the raid in his home in Mar-a-Lago which resulted in the FBI recovering over 100 classified documents.
