(TargetLiberty.org) – Former president Donald Trump was celebrating on Wednesday after Republican candidates he endorsed turned in an outstanding performance in the Texas primaries. It’s a hard-hitting demonstration of how much influence Trump still holds in the GOP and could encourage him to seek the party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential race.
Former President Donald Trump pointed to the political currency of his endorsement in a statement early Wednesday noting that all of the candidates he endorsed in Tuesday's Texas primary either won or had a substantial lead as vote-counting continued. https://t.co/hsPUFLsYGn

Trump has been busy endorsing Republican candidates who support the values he promoted during his presidency, and 33 of those candidates were running in the Texas primaries on March 1. For Trump, it was a critical test of how much weight his endorsement carries with conservative voters – would Texans prefer candidates he backs? It seems the answer is a resounding yes.
Early Wednesday morning, Trump released a statement through his Save America PAC, saying “All 33 Trump-Endorsed candidates won last night in Texas, or are substantially leading. Big night!” The state’s lieutenant governor, Dan Patrick (R), reinforced the message by publicly congratulating Trump for the success of his endorsements.
The results from Texas clearly show Trump’s approval makes a huge difference to any Republican candidate, because the party’s supporters trust and believe in him. If he decides to run for the White House again in 2024, the GOP grassroots will be behind him. Are potential rivals going to go up against the kind of momentum we saw on Tuesday that’s already building behind Trump?
