(TargetLiberty.org) – On Saturday, former President Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to attack once against the New York Judge in charge of his New York civil fraud case arguing that he was nuts for requiring that Ivanka Trump, the former President’s daughter, needed to provide her testimony.
In his post, Trump stated that the judge was “unhinged” and “Trump-hating.” He proceeded to argue that he genuinely thought the judge was crazy especially because of his hatred for him. He added that the case should never have been initiated and that it should be dismissed at this point.
This week, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Ivanka Trump was required to testify in the case despite the fact that the case against her had been dropped months earlier. The case is now focused onTrump and his two adult sons, both of whom are likely to take the stand next month.
The legal team representing Ivanka Trump argued that prosecutors lacked the jurisdiction to subpoena her. As they pointed out Ivanka Trump was not included as a party in the action and she was not a New York resident. Given these two facts, the Court did not have the jurisdiction to subpoena her.
It is alleged in the civil fraud case that Trump and his sons had over the years intentionally inflated the value of their assets in order to receive loans and insurance under better terms. Engoron has already found these allegations to be true and the trial is going to be used to determine damages.
