Trump Continues To Take Stark Lead In The Polls
(TargetLiberty.org) – There is no official word yet from the Republican Party on who will run for president in 2024. A new poll from The New York Times shows that in a race between former President Donald Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), the previous US leader would win. Of the nearly 850 voters surveyed, 49% said they would cast their ballot for Trump in the primary, whereas 25% answered in favor of the Floridian leader.

Although almost half of the Republican voters polled would put the former president on the 2024 ballot, that leaves 51% who would prefer a different candidate on the ticket. According to the survey, those choices would not include former President Mike Pence, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), or former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) because none of them earned over 7% of the vote in the poll. That means the Right appears to be looking for someone entirely new to represent their interests.
Whoever they choose is likely to go up against President Joe Biden as he has adamantly indicated his intention to run again for the Oval Office in 2024. However, considering his low approval rating, and his age, the prospect of a second term looks unlikely.
What candidate would you like to see run for the White House in the upcoming general election?
