(TargetLiberty.org) – There were signs of a growing rift between President Trump and VP Mike Pence on Thursday, January 7, following Wednesday’s congressional confirmation of Joe Biden as the next president. Now it seems the vice president’s staff is being shut out of the White House.

Before the January 6 joint session of Congress, there had been much speculation that Pence would refuse to certify Biden as president, and reports that Trump was urging him to do exactly that. When push came to shove, however, Pence refused to do it and the president publicly called him out for his lack of courage.
Now the media is reporting that Marc Short, Pence’s chief of staff, has been banned from the White House by the president. It’s rumored that Trump blames Short for giving Pence bad advice over his authority to block the certification.
No matter what the reason, President Trump has always valued loyalty and trust in his staff — he obviously believes Marc Short has broken that trust.
