Primary GOP Candidate Takes Home Victory All Thanks To Trump’s Endorsement
(TargetLiberty.org) – On May 11, ABC reported Representative Alex Mooney (R-WV) won the Republican primary in West Virginia, putting him on the ballot for the November midterm elections. Mooney was one of the many candidates with the coveted backing of former President Donald Trump, giving weight to the power of his endorsement. The candidate pointed to the former US leader in his victory speech as a nod for his support.

Trump used his social media platform TRUTH Social to congratulate Mooney on his win and stated how much he loves West Virginia. The victorious candidate believes Trump’s support made a “big difference” in the primary election result.
Incumbent Representative David McKinley (R-WV) tried to claim in a recent ad his opponent didn’t actually support a lot of Trump’s proposals while he was in office, but it made no difference in the election outcome.
The win marks the second Trump-backed candidate to win a primary election, with JD Vance in Ohio being the first vying for a seat on the Senate.
