(TargetLiberty.org) – President Trump’s lawyer has blasted Georgia’s rebellious secretary of state for secretly taping a confidential discussion with the president and handing it to liberal journalists. It’s the latest escalation in a verbal war between the two men.
On Saturday, the president spoke to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in an attempt to resolve two lawsuits he has against him, but in a violation of legal confidentiality, Raffensperger’s team secretly taped the conversation and leaked it to the Washington Post. The Democrats are now using it to claim the president is abusing his power – but Trump attorney Kurt Hilbert hit back hard on Monday.
“While they may think that behavior is appropriate, we do not.”

Hilbert talked to Fox News on January 4 and said he was “disappointed” that Raffensperger had released a confidential discussion, and added that “While they may think that behavior is appropriate, we do not.” He also refused to discuss the settlement issues around Trump’s lawsuits, which suggests the president isn’t planning to let Raffensperger off the hook for his disloyalty and unethical behavior.
